Wave (Original Painting)

This piece was also finished as part of the seascape course I undertook in Cardiff in 2017. A fictional wave, I tried to capture the rushed feeling of energy felt in the pull of a wave as it breaks, while also experimenting with deep greens and blues — some of my favourite colours to play with. I'm also pretty happy with the rocks in this piece; they came out much better than I expected after I decided to add them in towards the end to frame the piece well. These features add some context and narrative to a piece, setting a scene in the way a lone wave might not have managed.

Similar to the Hope Cove seascape, I would recommend storing this piece in a good frame as it was also produced on A3 sketchbook paper.
